Ask anyone who really knows a thing or two about electronic cigarettes what their top three e-cigarette suppliers are, and Vapor4Life will surely be among them. Their Vapor King slim e-cig batteries are rated as the best in the world by many members of the e-cigarette community, but search for online reviews of their products, and you’ll notice they’re a bit scarce, compared to the competition. That’s because Vapor4Life can be a little confusing for someone new to vaping.

Product Presentation

Vapor4Life 300x200 Vapor4Life Vapor King ReviewUnlike most other e-cigarette brands on the market, Vapor4Life offers almost total customization freedom, when it comes to its starter kits. They have a wider range of e-cig batteries, cartomizers and accessories than anyone else in the business, and that’s one of the things vaping enthusiasts love about V4L, but it can appear really complicated  to newbies. Whether they go for the Ultimate Starter Kit, the Ultimate Ultimatum or the Ultimate XL, they’ll have to select what kind of batteries, cartomizers and passthroughs they want included.

I decided to go with the Ultimate Ultimatum Starter Kit, Vapor4Life’s most popular package. It has a price of $99.95, and consists of:

    • 2 batteries of your choice
    • 1 USB passthrough
    • 1 portable charging case (PCC)
    • 1 USB charger
    • 1 wall charger
    • 1 car adapter
    • 1 carrying case
    • 1 pack of cartomizers of your choice

Everything comes neatly packed in a sturdy black box, and retails at a price much lower than similar starter kits offered by the competition. The PCC isn’t as cool looking as the ones sold by Blu or ApolloCigs, but it gets the job done and keeps you vaping on the go. The USB passthrough is also something you don’t see in many starter kits sold by other brands; a passthrough allows you to connect your e-cigarette to a standard USB port and vape without worrying about battery life.

I opted for 2 Vapor King Single Logo manual batteries, a manual passthrough, and a pack of Premium Vapor King Traditional Tobacco CoolCart cartomizers. Although the 4 battery types available with this starter kit are top notch, Vapor4Life has a much larger selection of original e-cigarette batteries you can buy separately, in case you want to experiment with other quality devices.

Battery Life

Vapor4Life2 300x214 Vapor4Life Vapor King ReviewFinding a slim e-cigarette model that looks good and lasts a long time isn’t as easy as you might think. Sure, there are a lot of brands to choose from out there, and many make some really bold claims about their products, but you’ll soon learn a lot of them are just marketing schemes. Telling you Vapor4Life’s batteries are based on the KR808D-1 model probably wouldn’t mean anything, so all you need to know right now is that’s one of the most popular mini batteries produced right now.

Original Vapor King batteries offered by Vapor4Life have a really good reputation among e-cigarette users looking for a slick vaping unit with above average performance. They use lithium-ion technology and have a longer cutoff threshold (10-13 seconds) for improved drags. That allows vapers to get more out of every puff, without the device cutting vapor production after every 5-second draw. This is one of the many features that makes V4L Vapor King batteries so popular.

The Vapor King Single Logo manual batteries I tested were really impressive for a slim battery model, lasting around 3-4 hours of fairly heavy smoking. You can do a lot better with thicker vaping units, but if the look of an analog cigarette is important to you, that’s about as good as it gets.

Vapor Volume

Another impressive feature of the V4L Vapor King e-cigarette is the amount of vapor it produces, especially when using a manual battery. With an automatic battery, the e-cigarette is activated by drag, and it needs a few seconds to heat up the juice and produce the vapor, but with the manual, pressing a concealed button before a draw will prime the e-cigarette and you’ll be rewarded with a consistent cloud of vapor the moment you start drawing.

Not all electronic cigarette brands offer the automatic and manual versions, so you really have to appreciate those who do. The model I tested performed really well from the first draw to the last drops of battery juice, which is quite impressive, considering other models produce considerably less vapor as battery power drops. You’ll probably only start to appreciate the phenomenal power of Vapor4Life’s e-cigarette after trying other similar products, but take my word for it, it’s a small beast.

Vapor4Life3 300x286 Vapor4Life Vapor King ReviewVapor4Life is virtually unbeatable in this department, as far as variety goes. They have a wider range of e-liquid flavors and cartomizers than anybody else in the business, and that means that no matter how picky you are, there’s bound to be something to your liking in their lineup. They have a lot of tobacco flavors, from original, to menthol and a number of flavors similar to analog brands like Kent, Camel or Parliament. Also a lot of fruity, creamy and coffee tastes for you to check out.

You can choose between Premium cartomizers and Wow Vapor cartomizers. The difference between the two is resistance. Wow Vapor cartomizers have a lower resistance, which means they yield a considerable amount of vapor, but there’s a chance you’ll burn the inside filling of your cartridge. With the Premium model you get slightly less vapor, but a higher ohm rating, hence less danger of burning the cartomizer. Like the flavors, cartomizer models are a matter of taste.

If you’re not too lazy, you can also get blank cartomizers and fill them with whatever e-juice you prefer.

Price vs. Value

The KR808D-1 or Vapor King electronic cigarettes supplied by Vapor4Life are some of the coolest-looking and best-performing ones I’ve ever had the privilege of testing. Although the batteries included in the Ultimate Ultimatum Starter Kit were top notch, I ended up purchasing additional batteries, including the Short and XL versions, which turned out to be a really good decision, because the XL really has an extended battery life.

V4L offers a really robust e-cigarette, and if you’re not too overwhelmed by all the customization options, you’ll fall in love with it from that very first draw. It’s slim, it’s powerful enough for a novice and, very importantly, it’s a lot cheaper than many other similar rebranded  e-cigarettes.

One other thing I should mention is the excellent customer care you get with Vapor4Life. Whatever problems you may have with your e-cigarettes, they’re always available to help you sort it out. Pretty stellar service, trust me on this.

It’s too bad so few of these review sites include the Vapor King in their top ten e-cigarettes, because it’s one of the best e-cigarettes I’ve tried. I have been vaping since 2008, and the KR808D-1 is the best model I have ever tried. The battery is pretty decent, but it’s the cartomizers that make this thing really shine. They don’t burn and the vapor volume is just wow… Plus, you can’t beat the cutoff time of Vapor4Life’s e-cig.

I have been vaping since 2009. I smoke the KR808D-1 exclusively, after wasting a lot of money on well marketed crap.

I shop V4L about 85% of the time. In the beginning I was very pleased with all aspects of their operation. However over the last 6 months, the quality of batteries and their quality control in general has diminished substantially. Recently I ordered a new battery, which was bad on arrival. I received 3 more replacements, all of which were bad also. I finally gave up and just kept one, which worked about half-ass. I also ordered several items for my son for his birthday. They left the battery out of his shipment. I talked to customer service rep 4 days ago and she assured me it would be shipped out immediately. I am still waiting on confirmation of it’s shipment. For now I suppose I will stay with them, however if they don’t overhaul their shipping department and keep a check on prices, I will be moving all my business to NHaler.
