Green Smoke is one of the most successful electronic cigarette brands in the world. They have been around for a very long time and managed to remain at the forefront of the industry, so obviously they’re doing something right. But what exactly is their secret, quality products, great marketing, or maybe both? It’s time to find out as we review the new Green Smoke e-cigarette.

Package Presentation

Like most other brands in the business, Green Smoke offers several kits to choose from, according to your budget, as well as disposable e-cigs. The most basic choice would be the Express Kit which comes with a single rechargeable battery, a pack of 5 cartomizers, a USB passthrough and 2 chargers (USB and wall adapter). Their most popular package is the Pro Kit, which comes with an extra battery, 10 cartomizers, as well a high-power wall adapter and car charger. And if you really want to go all out, there’s the Ultimate Kit which has 3 batteries and a carrying case plus all the accessories that come with the Pro Kit. One thing worth noting is whatever package you decide to buy, you get that handy USB cigarette that allows you to hook up to USB port and vape without worrying about battery life. You won’t get this kind of offer from many other companies.
DSC00519 300x225 Green Smoke ReviewFor this review, we tested Green Smoke’s Ultimate Kit, but in terms of packaging all the above mentioned options look about the same, the only thing that differs is the number of batteries and accessories.

If there’s one thing Green Smoke does extremely well, it’s packaging. The magnetic drop-top box the kit comes in is really sturdy and features a very inspired green landscape picture on top along with the company logo. Inside, apart from all the contents mentioned above, you’ll find a very detailed user manual, a nice leaflet with a series of warnings and tips to prolong battery life, as well as a Green Smoke Club Membership Card which at least theoretically should come in handy when trying to convince someone you’re allowed to use the e-cig in public transportation vehicles and establishments. I don’t know how useful this thing really is, but it’s definitely a nice touch.

I was particularly impressed with the cartomizer packaging. They come in classy flip-top boxes with all kinds of nice of nice graphics on the front and back that simply scream quality, and they’re individually sealed in plastic compartments. Even the tiny stickers shaped like green leafs placed on the plastic caps of the cartomizers to keep the flavor inside make an impression the first time you see them.

Overall, it’s obvious Green Smoke puts a lot of time and effort into the design and packaging of its products, unlike many of its competitors who lose a lot of points in that department.

Battery Life

Now that we’ve established Green Smoke is really strong in the presentation department, it’s time to get down to serious business and see if the actual e-cigarette is on par. The first thing we’re going to look at is battery life, as that’s one of the most important factors in determining whether an e-cig is worth your hard-earned money.

The Green Smoke Ultimate Kit included both short and long e-cigarette batteries, so we had a chance to put them to the
DSC00522 300x225 Green Smoke Reviewtest and compare our findings with the company’s claims. According to the user manual, the fully-charged smaller battery is supposed to last for the equivalent of between 180 and 220 puffs. I always find it pretty hard to accurately count puffs while testing automatic batteries because I usually like to take a few short puffs before inhaling, to prime the battery, but I definitely got a good 200 puffs before the LED light started blinking, telling me I have to recharge. I’m not particularly crazy about these super-mini style batteries, because most times they just look a lot better than they perform, but I have to say Green Smoke’s is pretty decent.

The longer battery officially delivers between 250 and 300 puffs, but to tell you the truth I didn’t really see a very big improvement from the smaller one. I maybe got around 50 puffs from it before it before it died, but that’s not a whole lot, as any heavy vaper will tell you. But 250 long puffs from an electronic cigarette this size is not bad at all, especially considering the amount of vapor they produce.

All in all, Green Smoke’s battery life definitely ranks up there with the best in this size category.

Vapor Volume

Vapor volume has always been Green Smoke’s strong point. They claim to be the “industry leader in smoke volume” and although I haven’t yet tested all the e-cigs on the market, I can confirm their electronic cigarettes produce the most vapor of any similar size PVs I’ve ever tried. I don’t see why they’d want to use the term “smoke” instead of “vapor”, though, since that can be somewhat confusing to new vapers. But as far as producing monster plumes of vapor, Green Smoke is definitely impressive.

I don’t know if it’s the KR808-D2 (a.k.a. E9) batteries or the mix of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin in their e-liquid, but something is definitely special about Green Smoke’s vapor production. I have used same-style e-cigarettes from other established brands in the business, and although I was more than satisfied with them in terms of vapor volume, they didn’t come close to this thing. I used the longer battery first, and was sure the shorter one would produce way less vapor, but i was surprised to see that if I drew on it long enough it performed just as impressively, clearly beating other bigger e-cigarettes I’ve tried.

You can definitely outperform the Green Smoke with a fat-battery vaporizer like the eGo, but good luck getting a better vapor production from a mini electronic cigarette operating at 3.7 volts. I don’t care what anyone says about the Green Smoke, this thing is a little vapor-producing beast. And to make things even better, the battery switch is so responsive that you only have to draw on the e-cig lightly to be rewarded with a mouthful of vapor.

Flavors

We talked about the nice cartomizer presentation in the beginning of this review, but it’s time to see if they’re content matches the look.
DSC00526 300x225 Green Smoke ReviewWhile most other companies are constantly coming up with new original flavors, Green Smoke has decided to stick to the classics. It offers three different tobacco varieties (Absolute Tobacco, Tobacco Gold and Red Label Tobacco), menthol, chocolate, vanilla and coffee. It’s definitely not the most impressive flavor line out there, and while it’s enough for beginners looking to get their feet wet in the world of vapor, I think a bit more diversity wouldn’t hurt at all.

The first thing I noticed while testing all the different flavors and strengths was the distinct sweetness in all of them probably due to the vegetable glycerin in the e-liquid. It’s a known fact the VG-based juice is sweeter than the propylene glycol stuff, but Green Smoke’s is a mix of the two, so while it has a nice sweetness to it, it doesn’t affect the flavors. The Absolute Tobacco and the Gold are some of the tastiest tobacco flavors I’ve ever tried, and the Red Label has a pretty distinct taste as well, but it was a bit too strong for my taste. The menthol will knock your socks off, it’s so strong it feels like you just inhaled a couple of atomized ice cubes if you draw on the e-cigarette too hard the first time. Of the sweet flavors, I particularly enjoyed the vanilla, but the coffee and chocolate are pretty good as well.

Overall, Green Smoke has some pretty good flavors, the tobacco range especially, which is great news for fresh ex-smokers looking for a familiar taste. One thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was that the cartomizers didn’t seem to have that much juice in them. Green Smoke might be worried about e-liquid leaking out of the cartomizers and into the battery, but they certainly could put a little more of the good stuff in their cartridges, because right now they’re not exactly the equivalent of 1.5 packs of analogs.

Price vs Value

There is no question Green Smoke offers some of the best mini e-cigarette kits on the market today, but they’re certainly not giving them away for peanuts. It’s one of the most expensive electronic cigarettes you can buy, but if quality and presentation are important to you, I guess you have to fork out the big bucks.

So, is the Green Smoke worth the price? That’s a question only you can answer. There are lots of other brands to choose from, but if adopting a smoke-free life really is important to you, and if you can afford it, than you definitely won’t be disappointed with the Green Smoke.
